Bodrum to Kos to Crete

Hi Aggie,

The short answer is no.

The long answer is that there is an 'express ferry' that runs from Bodrum to Kos, called the 'Bodrum Express', it is a short journey from the coast of Turkey to the Greek island of Kos.

Did you read this page at all? How to get to Crete from Turkey...

The trip from Bodrum to Kos takes about one hour. Between April and Oct, it leaves at 9.30 daily and costs €17.

Then you will have multiple options from Kos Port as to how you get to Crete. You can take a ferry to Santorini or Rhodes then to Crete. See the details of each option below.

Via Santorini by Ferry

Take ferries from Kos to Santorini then to Crete. The port you will arrive at in Crete is named Heraklion.

From Kos Town the ferries depart regularly to Santorini (Thira) and the crossing takes 5 hours. Then from Santorini it is a 2 hour ferry ride to Heraklion.

On that date Blue Star Ferries have a ferry departing Kos at 19.20, arriving at Santorini at 23.50, costing approx. €40.

You may want to stay in Santorini, there are ferries daily to Crete departing around 17.30 arriving at 19.15, into Heraklion Port.

See more info on this page: Santorini to Crete

Via Rhodes by Ferry

The ferry from Kos south to Rhodes is 5 hours. On your date the Blue Star ferry leaves at 21.00 and gets in on 14 July at 02.10 (middle of the night), cost is about $30. Then a long ferry from Rhodes to Crete takes 14 hours.

Via Rhodes by Air

Or you can fly with Minoan Air from Rhodes to Heraklion, duration is one hour and cost is around €70.

Accommodation
You may want to stay in Santorini and enjoy the island before continuing on – see our suggestions for accommodation.... A good budget place is San Giorgio Villas

If you go via Rhodes, it is suggested to stay in the old town, which is stunning and full of history, a good budget place is Stavros Pension, and we have other accommodation choices in the old town here... The old town is close to the ferry port.
