A new initiative originating on the Greek island of Antiparos, Re-inspiring Greece from the Youth Up aims to support young Greeks to return to their place of origin and start up a new Greek Agri-Food business based on an innovative business plan.
The initiative simultaneously promotes the high quality of Greek Virgin Olive Oil around the world.

As Australians commemorate ANZAC Day today, we remember those fallen in war from Australia and New Zealand, and think of those who lost their lives in Crete during WWII.
While we point out with alacrity that we do not glorify war, the mad and violent acts and the stories from the Battle of Crete weave together our lives in Australia and New Zealand with the life of Crete, still, to this day, the bonds forged out of hardship and loss remain strong.
Australians and Cretans share an independent character, a distinct lack of false respect for authority, skill at wordplay and story-telling (not to mention a love of hard liquor). These larrikin qualities meant that the soldiers who found themselves and their fate thrust together in the hard, rocky, cold mountains of Crete, developed a brotherhood of understanding.
In Crete, commemoration ceremonies will occur over a week in May; the ANZACs will be remembered with love and gratitude.

Our friend Marcos has written to tell us news from the hills above Agia Pelagia, Crete...
"The Mourtzanakis Residence is scheduled to expand by end of 2013 season by adding three more studios below three villas as well as doing a "face lift" so that it would become a beautique rural accomodation.
However, the quality would never change, on the contrary we are looking forward to improve our services and program as well, such as:
• Organizing Olive Trees Harvest end of 2013
• Attending the Local Shepherd's Cheese Making day
• Discover More Paths so that it would combine the Contemporary World with our Past
We are keen in re openning the old path of Achlada to Savvathiana Convent, Visiting the Medieval Olive Oil Press in Achlada Village, and commencing a tough trek to Fodele's Castle.
We are confident that despite the crisis, hard work and striving would let us prevail the current serious situation that our country is facing and many of our compatriots are suffering from.
Last but not least, we are always waiting for you and all are most welcome to our cozy and warm Residence.
