Rethymnon to Chania in Crete

Me and a friend are travelling the islands this year(Aug). We will be in Crete for 1 week, we are coming in to rethymnon port from santorini and we fly home from chania airport! We would love some recommendations of places to stay as we make our way to the airport. We’d love to see some old towns beautiful beaches and some night live! Thanks ☺️
