Self Catering in Agios Nikolaos

Kalimera,

I intend to stay in Agios Nikolaos for about 1 week at the end of May.

Would you please help me to find a room to let ? I should like a room for 1 person, shower in, kitchen if possible, near sea and town.

Sorry, my English is not very good and I don't speak Greek!

Apartment with Kitchen in Agios Nikolaos

Hi Sophie,

We are not sure what price range you are looking at - a well-priced option with a kitchen are Angeliki Apartments in the centre of town. They have space available at the end of May.

You could also try the Palazzo Apartments or Sgouros Hotel, which have self catering kitchen and are right by the sea on Kitroplateia Beach in town.

If you decide to pay a little bit more for a whole week's stay, you could rent a whole apartment. Many private owners now rent out their homes.

From this town you are in perfect position to visit Elounda Village and Elounda Beach which are only 11 km away, you can get there by local bus. The bus can also take you to the little seaside village of Plaka which became famous because it is opposite the island of Spinalonga.

From Agios Nikolaos you can take boat tours to Spinalonga Island, or an independant bus trip to many interesting places in Lasithi including the inland village of Kritsa.

Mantraki Apartments

If you need a convenient place to stay in the town of Agios Nikolaos, I strongly recommend Mantraki Apartments. We stayed there for several days in two different periods and two different rooms. For the price and value, it was exceptional. The hospitality was incredible. Mantraki's proximity to the town was precisely what you would want if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of everything.

The proximity to any beaches may take you 10-15 minutes walking. Mantraki's bathroom facilities were exceptional for the price. It had a full kitchen with utensils, really nice bedroom with aircon.
